Professor Marion Haas

Marion is Emeritus Professor of Health Economics in the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation, University of Technology Sydney. Her research interests are in incorporating economic analysis into clinical trials, applying the results of economic evaluations to health care programs and services and understanding the preferences of consumers/patients and providers for health services. She has a long standing interest in women’s sexual and reproductive health, having been involved in an ARC Linkage Grant (Contraceptive Choices) and as a CI on the ACCORD grant (NHMRC). Having completed a number of preference studies (the preferences of patients for alternative treatments for lung cancer and the preferences of young cancer survivors for survivorship services), she is leading SPHERE’s research into the preferences of the general public and health care providers for LARC, early medical abortion (EMA) and pre-conception care (PCC).
