Dr Sharon James

Dr Sharon James is an experienced primary health care nurse who was awarded an Australian Government Research Training Scholarship and NTEU Joan Hardy Scholarship to complete her PhD about lifestyle risk factor communication between nurses and patients in general practice. Since PhD conferral in 2021, she has worked at SPHERE as a Research Fellow and Project Manager on the Australian Contraception and Abortion Primary Care Practitioner Support (AusCAPPS) Network. Sharon is a qualitative and mixed methods researcher with interests in women’s health, preventive care, interconception health and nursing roles in primary health care. In 2021 Sharon was awarded a Tutor-PHC Fellowship and in 2022 became an Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association Board Director.
