Kodie Alderton
Kodie is currently living and working in Western NSW as a Sexual Health Clinician. She understands the limitations in accessing EMA and LARC services in rural and remote areas of the country and advocates the role nurses can play in supporting this gap. This has led to her role as a Clinical Opinion Leader in the ORIENT study with the aims, like her own, of increasing this service access under a nurse-led model. She has contributed as a Clinical Opinion expert for the AusCAPPS Community of Practice, providing insights to the fundamentals of LARC and EMA services and again focusing on the role of the nurse. Having previously worked at Newcastle Family Planning in a similar nurse-led model she is able to provide support and education in providing sexual and reproductive services including the provision of LARC and EMA. Prior to this she held the Women’s Health Portfolio in a remote community in the Northern Territory.
